The flowers come up once a year in June and are said to be their strongest on June 24th on St. John's Day.  These flowers and buds were picked with care and steeped in only the best olive oil for 3 months.  The red color is from Hypericin in the yellow flowers and buds which is one of the main active chemical constitueents responsible for the herb's medicinal properties.
